Proposal Manager

About the Role

The Lukens Company (TLC) is an award-winning full-service marketing agency that is seeking a Proposal Manager to join our sales team in our Arlington, VA office (this is a hybrid position).

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing the full proposal lifecycle, including writing, editing, and reviewing content for compliance and cohesiveness

  • Establishing and leading the RFP process with the sales team, including response project management as well as response submissions and tracking

  • Ensuring compliance, resolving issues, coordinating among key stakeholders, and analyzing solicitations

  • Assuring that contractual terms and provisions meet and follow company processes, guidelines, and policies

  • Overseeing and updating existing contracts as necessary.

  • Coordinating cost and contractual volumes to ensure appropriate schedules and inputs

  • Leading and participating in collaborative sessions to refine win strategy, competitive assessments, and prospect and client pain points

  • Ensuring proper filing, completion, and status reporting of all agreements within approved company systems

  • Guiding prospects, clients, and vendors on the contracting process and general questions

  • Assisting with the sales team’s administrative tasks

What We'd Like to See

  • 5+ years of experience in proposal development

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain goodwill with clients and employees

  • Effective verbal communication skills, giving you the ability to present, respond, and follow up on questions and inquiries from prospects, clients, and managers with clarity

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Self-starter with a demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects, prioritize a variety of tasks, and think on your feet to meet ever-changing needs and deadlines

  • Ability to shift from big picture strategy to tactical support and execution

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with quick turnarounds

  • Proven proposal repository management experience

  • Working knowledge of project management software

  • Experience using CRM tools and functions (HubSpot experience preferred)

  • Proficient in the use of Adobe and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams)

  • Ability to learn new technology systems quickly

  • Adept at working cross-functionally, problem solving, resolving conflicts, and suggesting ways to improve processes

  • Results-oriented and team-first attitude

  • Inclination to learn and grow professionally
