Office Assistant

About the Role

The Lukens Company (TLC) is an award-winning full-service marketing agency that is seeking an Office Assistant to join our Administrative Department in our Arlington, VA office.

The Office Assistant will assist with a variety of clerical tasks. We intend for this to be a part-time position working in our Arlington, VA office three days a week.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Overseeing and supporting all administrative duties to ensure that the office is operating smoothly

  • Monitoring, ordering, and distributing TLC's office supplies

  • Organizing and maintaining common areas

  • Assisting with office layout planning and changes

  • Managing office maintenance needs and communicating requests to building maintenance staff as needed

  • Receiving and sorting incoming mail and deliveries as well as managing outgoing mail

  • Coordinating FedEx pickup and drop-off, including creating shipping labels and packaging boxes

  • Screening TLC's incoming phone calls and directing messages to team members as needed

  • Helping with office printer issues, including coordinating repairs and ordering supplies

  • Providing other administrative support as needed, including scheduling meetings, updating phone directories, and coordinating storage pickups

What We'd Like to See

  • 1-5 years of administrative or office management experience

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain goodwill with clients and employees

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Self-starter with a demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects, prioritize a variety of tasks, and think on your feet to meet needs and deadlines

  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with quick turnarounds

  • Ability to learn new technology systems quickly

  • Adept at working cross-functionally, problem solving, resolving conflicts, and suggesting ways to improve processes

  • Results-oriented and team-first attitude

  • Inclination to learn and grow professionally
